Christmas 2002 and New Year's 2003

This year, Christmas was at David and Kelli's near Charlotte, NC.

	Ben tries to figure out what his new 3-D jigsaw puzzle of the planets is supposed to look like.
	Ben and some more Christmas gifts ... including a brand new Cuisinart ice cream maker.
	A picture of Dad taking a picture of me taking a picture of him taking a ...
	While everyone else pays attention to Ben's new belt, Brandon, ever the photogene, looks for the camera.
	"Uncle Jim, we're going to another planet. We're taking the spaceship to Mars."

After Christmas, Felicia and i took a long-awaited vacation for two to the mountains of North Carolina.

	As the old year wound down and we looked on from the front porch, the clouds around Mount Pisgah put on their own all-natural fireworks display just for us.
	Unfortunately, Felicia came down with a virulent strain of Southern California Sleeping Sickness. She spent a lot of time meditating in the supine position, while i cooked split-pea soup or prepared some of my special Indian spice tea.
	The sunset-fireworks continued day after day, making our vacation more beautiful and memorable than ever.
	We made a trip to downtown Asheville, where we saw this Peace Train, derailed on the curb---an ominous foreshadowing of things to come.
	On New Year's Eve, we dined German-style at the Black Forest Restaurant in southern Asheville. Mmmm, Spätzle....

While Felicia was still on her winter break, i had to get back to work, so it was back to Chapel Hill for a while.

	After a tasty dinner at Pepper's Pizza, Felicia seems quite happy.
	First try at a group photo with Poonam, Jim, and Felicia. Sajal, taking the picture, says, "Pay attention, Poonam".
	Now it's Jim who's making things difficult. Stop talking during the photo, Jim!
	What's this ... Felicia, in an airport, getting ready to depart on a plane? What an unusual sight!
