Wahtum Lake and Chinidere Mountain

One of our new favorite dayhikes was along the Pacific Crest Trail around Wahtum Lake, a small lake nestled among the mountains to the northwest of Mt. Hood. One look at the parking lot told us it was a little off the beaten path, and taking the trail to the top of Chinidere Mountain was well worth the incredible view.
